Aviation Photography - DominickGalauran

Late 3rd quarter of 2012, my aviation passion came back all of a sudden because of a trip to a diecast store in Harrison Plaza. I started collecting diecast aircraft models. Joined Filipino Diecast Aircraf Group and Philippine Plane Spotter’s Group on Facebook.  Seeing the posts in the group inspired me more.

December of 2012, I flew to the US for first time. I brought with me a second hand 10-year old Canon 20D to document my trip.  When I was in the US, I was able to buy in craiglist a 70-300mm lens.

I asked my folks to bring me to the airport spot where the group recommended me to take photos. That moment, I knew that I will be doing this for the long time. Chasing and shooting planes, traveling from airport to airport, both domestic and international.

Every week when I came back from the US, I will be with my friends, shooting in the fence of NAIA.  I tried posting to several aviation photography sites, Airliners.Net and JetPhotos.com to have my work critiqued.  Time passes by, I improved thru practice. People suddenly notices my photos.  A bank in Germany even bought my photo for use in their Annual Report Book.

Aviation Photography will always be the genre that I will love doing whenever possible.
